I am back! Sorry for the hiatus, and I promise never to go that long without posting ever again. So the assignment was food and I love food. I knew exactly how I wanted to capture it too. I wanted to capture those cravings I often get in the middle of the night. I dare say some of my life's favorite moments are the ones in the quite of my kitchen with a cup of tea and a banana at 2:00 AM.
This is a great picture, Blair! It captures exactly what you were talking about. I think B&W serves this photo better since it would have been hard to get color exposure right with that much contrast between the white interior of the refrigerator and the dark of the kitchen. Black blacks, white whites, and nice sharp focus. Good work! But really...salad dressing for a midnight snack? Well...I guess we don't store cake in the door, do we?
ReplyDeleteVery clever, gets my vote also - great photo Blair and you look so pensive too - what to have? Seems like no-one goes hungry in that household, and looks as challenging as trying to get your hand in a Japanese car engine compartment :)
ReplyDeleteDear Divine Miss Blair...Very cool. Love the B&W. And who can't relate to the subject? I like how we all have our own interpretation of "food"...How come I didn't think of the WHOLE refridgerator?!
ReplyDeleteActually, I enjoy the feeling the image envokes. That peaceful time in the middle of the nite. No sounds, no one around. Emptiness until you open a full refer!
I also like the lighting. The subject in siloutte, lots of detail on the refer shelves, and the rim light on her arm...
Nice job Blair Sidney.
Welcome back.
