It was snowing like crazy the other nite...and I dragged out the trusty tripod, to take some snow pics...and it kept moving....dang...so I threw in the towel and then I tried a flash with my little canon g11...and here is how it turned out.

I would say your little Canon did you right. That DOES look like it is snowing like crazy. What did it look like in color, any different? It almost looks like a painting...wonder how it would look printed on canvas?
ReplyDeleteCraig, get a load of this.If you look very close, especially at the tree on the right, you can see that the bark has brown in it. This isn't a BW conversion. Just that most of the subject IS black and white. Strange, huh?
ReplyDeleteI have some pretty surreal images just like this (different trees, same dark) that I took in Fairbanks a couple years ago, and my sister Carla wants one one canvas...When I finally step up and get it done, I'll let you know how it turns out...but I am with you, I think it would make a beautiful print.
Looks magical with the nightime trees and white snow lit up using the flash. Focus and DoF worked well - were you still using the tripod when you decided to use the G11?
